I have over 20 years of experience working as a licensed clinical psychologist working both here in San Francisco and in New York City. I believe in working collaboratively to resolve your issues as quickly as possible. I will work with you to achieve practical, real life solutions to your problems so that you can feel better in as little time as possible. I also maintain relationships with psychiatrists in the area should you need medication. I am skilled in many types of psychotherapy, including cognitive therapy. I trained many years ago with the psychiatrist who is considered the gold standard of cognitive therapy, Dr. David Burns, M.D., and am considered quite competent in practicing the original form of this technique. We will work together to decide which style of treatment will work best for you and will start there. If at any point we agree that a particular type of therapy is not achieving your desired results, we will change our strategy. I particularly enjoy working with young women who are confused around the complex issues of relationships, career, and self-image. I understand the challenges that women in our current environment face and am proficient in helping them see and put into action choices that will result in meeting goals and achieving a happier, more fulfilling future. I also have a great deal of experience in working with adults who achieved professional and financial success early in life, only to find themselves depressed and unfulfilled. I assist these young adults in setting and attaining new goals, which ultimately results in experiencing the contentment and "happiness" they expected and long for. |
Appointments are available during the day into the early evenings, Tuesday through Friday. |
In my practice, payment is due at the time services are provided, unless you have Managed Health Network insurance, as that is the only panel I am on. If you have a PPO or POS plan I will provide a statement that will allow you to seek reimbursement. Payment can be made in either cash, check or credit cards. |
I understand that unexpected circumstances do occur, but please call me as soon as possible to inform me that you will be late for your session or if you are unable to make your appointment by calling me on my cell at 415.307.4253. As your time is reserved exclusively for you, I require a minimum of 48 hours notice before your session for all appointment cancellations, otherwise payment for that session will be due in full. |
If you need to contact me between appointments, please leave a message on my voice mail at 415.989.5952 or on my cell at 415.307.4253. In the event that you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or visit your local emergency room immediately. |
My office is located at 275 Fifth Street, Suite #309, between Howard and Folsom Streets. There is metered parking on the street as well as parking at the Fifth and Mission Garage a block and a half from my office. |
